Portaledge Test Set Up on truck

I just had to try it out. So I dropped a strap over the top of my truck. Attached the hook to the wheel well and hung my ledge off the opposite side. I don’t suggest driving with the ledge in this configuration. - Plaid

I would do this on warm nights, when "camping" at a rest stops, during road trips in the late 90s.
I had a lifted Suburban with a 5'x10' roof rack.
One time a tour bus stopped in. I felt like a roadside attraction on route 66.
The Japanese love thier cameras.
